Welcome to my blog—a blend of travel experiences and reminders of God’s truths in the beauty of the United States.
In the forty-plus years of marriage to my husband, Mitch, we have been blessed with many amazing vacations—shared with our two sons often in childhood and occasionally in their adulthood. Our accommodations have frequently involved various forms of camping, though we’ve had plenty of stays in condos or cabins. Years with our first tent were followed by: a pop-up/tent trailer, a larger tent, a rooftop tent (for one season), our first travel trailer/camper in 2019, and our current vacation home bought in 2021—a twenty-five-foot Imagine trailer.
Elsa and Ana are our two canine kids, travel companions, and frequent photo subjects.
Our home is in southwestern Illinois about thirty-five miles from St. Louis.
INSPIRATION
Through Compassion International, I sponsor and write monthly to two wonderful boys who live in Guatemala. In telling them about the places we visit, I strive to correlate Bible verses and an encouraging lesson for their Christian life. God reminded me that those parts of the letters are really devotionals that I should share in a similar way with a broader audience.
With this goal in mind, I seek and find analogies and reminders of truths found in the Bible and in Christian life. Some of my posts will be reflections on destinations in the past while others will be findings in the moment. I have gathered a wealth of ideas that I look forward to fully developing as I spend more time writing in my recent retirement.
Travel. Enjoy. Learn. Dream. Even if you are not a Christian, consider the breathtaking beauty of landscapes, oceans, nature, and open your eyes to Creation. Find truth in the Word of God and draw closer to Him. Grow. Be inspired. I pray these things for you, my readers, as you read my weekly blog–“Truth in my Travels.”

FAITH
I have a passion for God – a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, as should be obvious in the blog. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior in early 2001. I had no prior experience with church or faith; I had faith in myself and in science. I intend to continue using the gifts and passions that God gave me for the benefit of others and to glorify Him through this blog.
