About Me

FAITH

I have a passion for God – a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. He makes such a difference in my life that I cannot help but share.

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in early 2001.  In my previous 38 years, I had no prior experience with church or faith; I had faith in myself and in science.   I intend to continue using the gifts and passions that God gave me for the benefit of others and to glorify Him through this blog.

ME

I joined my husband, Mitch, in retirement at the end of 2024. As I was trusting God in this next chapter, I knew that writing would be part of His plan, but I wasn’t right entirely (see About the Blog).

Experiencing the beauty of the U.S., pulling our travel trailer to various states, has brought us many special memories that I have shared here in the past. My writing focus has changed.

My everyday life starts with exercise, and connecting with God through a few devotionals and prayer.

I enjoy serving food to those in need once or twice a week. God led me to start substitute teaching at the start of 2026, and I have found the early elementary grades to be my favorite in the couple of days a week that I teach.

I have three kids through Compassion International with whom I correspond regularly; two of whom I sponsor. It is immensely rewarding. Even if you cannot financially sponsor a child, you can contact them to only be a correspondence partner.

My other interests include cycling, walking, and hiking.

FAMILY

I have been married to my husband, Mitch, for over 42 years, and we have two adult sons.

Elsa and Ana are our two canine kids, travel companions, and frequent subjects for pictures.

Our home is in southwestern Illinois not far from St. Louis.

A good picture of me is rare, here in the old-timey ice cream area
at Montross Pharmacy in Winterset, Iowa.

MY HOPE FOR YOU

Look for the good—for the God–always. Learn. Dream. Travel. Find truth in the Word of God and draw closer to Him.  Grow. Be inspired. I pray these things for you, my readers.
